Job Description (brief): The Watershed Project is a nonprofit based in Richmond, California whose mission is to inspire Bay Area communities to understand, appreciate and protect our local watersheds. As part of this endeavor, we are focusing on projects that will improve our urban watersheds through the use of Low Impact Design (LID) that can help mitigate the effects of urbanization on stormwater. These technologies and designs mimic natural watershed processes by replicating pre- existing hydrologic site conditions. LID directs runoff to natural vegetated systems that reduce, filter or slow stormwater runoff and may include swales, rainwater gardens, stormwater planters, green roofs, pervious concrete and green streets to improve the health of our urban watersheds.
